WHY
To uplift the human spirit through collaborations between minority artists that seek to serve underrepresented communities.
HOW
We believe art has the ability to build relationships, form communities, and ultimately change lives. Epoch Creative NYC is a new, fresh, and innovative arts initiative that aims to create a reservoir of funds to create art for underserved and underexposed populations in New York City. Epoch Creative NYC is currently fiscally sponsored through New York Live Arts. ECNYC strives to offer resources to all visual and performing arts mediums. In addition, ECNYC challenges supporters to come into relationship with both artists and communities in which they invest. We believe that through our mission we can uplift underrepresented stories that create the colorful communities of New York City.

Where We Are Going
Uplifting the human spirit. Creating an ever-growing legacy of Epoch branded art throughout New York City. Empowering artists and communities to create art that services a need. Creating socially relevant art that allows audiences to explore, discuss, and heal current emotions.
Background
Nikko Kimzin established Epoch Creative NYC in 2014. His vision was to create an art movement that transverses audience and artists’ boundaries in order to form community specific art. Epoch Creative NYC has since become fiscally sponsored by New York Live Arts.
NYLA is an internationally recognized destination for innovative movement-based artistry offering audiences access to art and artists notable for their conceptual rigor, formal experimentation and active engagement with the social, political and cultural currents of our times. Pairing with New York Live Arts offers Epoch Creative NYC arts management mentorship and financial benefits in tax-deductible donations. Epoch Creative NYC is seeking funding to facilitate a long-standing relationship with NYC communities and artists. We believe in investing artistically in the preservation and progression of underrepresented communities; we believe in providing a platform for minority artists and their work that seeks to create relationships. We believe in collaborating between artists and community. We hope to create projects that will charge people to adopt responsibility about the area and happenings in it.
We are casting our nets wide in hopes of serving peoples’ needs. We are looking to gather $10,000 in support of creating a short film intended to positively uplift the feminist voice in the Latino community. These funds will go specifically towards production costs, equipment rental, talent, and the dispersal of film to its intended audience. Film will be dispersed in public viewings in Harlem and throughout NYC. LA MORENA will be submitted for film festivals. We hope to continue gaining momentum in the progression of underserved communities.
